George Hill, aged about fifty years, died Monday morning at Waynetown. He took sick about the middle of last week of pneumonia and rapidly grew worse. He was a well known citizen of Wayne Township where he had many friends.

Mr. Hill was one of the firm of York, Gray and Hill, who succeeded Samuel and Isaac Born and did an extensive business from about 1868 to 1873, but with many others the panic of that year carried them down. After that he tried farming for awhile but it proved to be too heavy work for him to stand so he went back to Waynetown and was employed principally by Morris Herzog as clerk until the latter removed to Covington. He leaves a wife and three children. -s
